Defined Bioscience’s Ready-CEPT® Cell Viability Enhancer is a defined 1000× supplement formulated to improve stem-cell survival, recovery, and stability during stress events such as passaging, thawing, cryopreservation, and gene editing. The cocktail combines four protective small molecules — chroman-1 (ROCK inhibitor), emricasan (pan-caspase inhibitor), polyamines (putrescine, spermine, spermidine), and trans-ISRIB (integrated stress-response inhibitor) — to reduce apoptosis and enhance post-manipulation recovery.
Developed from CEPT technology first characterised at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, Ready-CEPT has been shown to support genetically stable stem-cell culture, single-cell cloning, and organoid formation with improved viability compared with traditional ROCK-inhibitor-only systems. It functions as a universal cytoprotective additive across mammalian and pluripotent cell lines, reducing cell death and promoting consistent colony formation.
The supplement is supplied as a sterile 1000× liquid in DMSO/water, using animal-origin-free components, and is compatible with chemically defined and serum-free media such as HiDef® B8. Each 10 µL or 200 µL vial prepares 10 mL or 200 mL of CEPT-supplemented medium respectively. Stored at –20 °C and protected from light, Ready-CEPT remains stable for up to 12 months.
