Most products require no additional agreements. Cell lines and certain biological materials require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) on first purchase from each supplier. We handle this digitally - both parties sign online before shipment. Subsequent orders from the same supplier proceed immediately.

Gibco™ Sodium Pyruvate is a 100 mM (100X) concentrated supplement designed as an alternative energy source for a wide range of mammalian cell cultures. As a key intermediate in the glycolysis and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycles, sodium pyruvate provides cells with a readily available carbon source, supporting high-energy metabolic demands and enhancing growth stability in glucose-depleted conditions. Beyond its role in metabolism, it serves as an effective reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenger, providing critical antioxidant protection to sensitive cell lines.

Produced in cGMP-compliant, ISO-certified facilities, this formulation (Cat. No. 11360070) ensures the highest levels of lot-to-lot consistency and safety. The supplement is chemically defined, animal-origin free (AOF), and xeno-free, making it an ideal choice for chemically defined media systems. Each batch undergoes rigorous testing for sterility, endotoxin levels, and biological performance to meet the stringent requirements of advanced cell culture applications.

The product is supplied as a sterile-filtered, ready-to-use liquid, optimized for easy 1:100 dilution into basal media such as DMEM or RPMI-1640. Designed for both research and further manufacturing use, it provides a reliable foundation for scaling R&D processes into production environments. When stored at 2–8°C and protected from light, the medium maintains peak stability for up to 24 months.
