Energy Efficiency in Bioreactor Scale-Up Processes
Scaling up bioreactors for cultivated meat production - from small (1–5 L) to large (1,000+ L) systems - brings energy challenges. Larger volumes require more power for mixing, oxygen transfer,...

Most products require no additional agreements. Cell lines and certain biological materials require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) on first purchase from each supplier. We handle this digitally - both parties sign online before shipment. Subsequent orders from the same supplier proceed immediately.
MyoWorks provides direct post-sales support including troubleshooting, process optimisation, and protocol guidance. Batch-specific documents available on request.
MyoZein Microcarriers are edible, plant-based microspheres derived from corn zein protein, designed to facilitate the scalable expansion of anchorage-dependent cells in suspension. Designated Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), these microcarriers serve as a food-safe scaffold that significantly simplifies downstream processing; unlike traditional synthetic carriers, they are fully edible and do not require separation from the final biomass.
Manufactured from zein, a major storage protein found in maize, these microspheres provide a hydrophobic surface that supports robust cell attachment and proliferation. With a particle size range of 65 µm to 355 µm, they offer a high surface area-to-volume ratio, making them optimised for increasing yield in stirred-tank bioreactors without the use of animal-derived coatings.
The product is supplied non-sterile as a dry powder to ensure stability and long shelf life. Prior to use, the microcarriers require sterilisation via a standard autoclaving protocol, followed by PBS rinsing and media equilibration as detailed in the technical datasheet.
Suitable for use with bovine, porcine, and other mammalian cell lines, MyoZein Microcarriers allow for the transition from static monolayer cultures to scalable suspension systems for cultivated meat production.
