Non-Animal Scaffolds Under Heat and pH Stress
For cultivated meat R&D teams, I assess scaffold stability by retained function - not appearance. Test your formulation through its actual heating, cooling and pH sequence. For adherent culture, check...

Roslin Porcine iPSC (Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells) are robust, fast-growing porcine induced pluripotent stem cells designed for cultivated meat research and scale-up applications. The cells are derived from veterinary-certified Yorkshire × Landrace cross-breed animals with full traceability and are generated using in-house non-integrative reprogramming methods. Derived and cultured feeder-free in serum-free media, these cells support both adherent and suspension culture and can differentiate into multiple cell types, including mesodermal progenitors, mesenchymal stem cells, adipocytes, and myocytes.
The cells are characterized prior to release using a range of analytical methods, including qPCR, flow cytometry, G-Banding karyotyping, RNA sequencing, and sterility testing. Pluripotency is assessed through markers including OCT4, NANOG, and SOX2, while additional characterization evaluates embryoid body differentiation and adipocyte and myoblast differentiation. Testing also includes sterility and mycoplasma testing, as well as PCR testing for Hepatitis E.
Roslin Porcine iPSC are cultured in both 2D and 3D formats and have a reported doubling time of 14–16 hours in both conditions. The cells have demonstrated high-density growth in suspension culture, achieving greater than 30 million cells/mL in fed-batch culture and greater than 60 million cells/mL in perfusion culture. Roslin Technologies also provides protocols for scale-up and differentiation to support the use of these cells in larger-scale culture workflows.
These porcine iPSCs are suitable for research and process development involving cultivated meat, cell expansion, differentiation, and scalable bioprocessing. Their feeder-free and serum-free culture, rapid growth characteristics, differentiation capacity, and demonstrated performance in suspension bioreactor culture make them suitable for workflows focused on developing scalable cell production and differentiation processes.
