Metabolic Pathway Mapping for Cultivated Meat Cells
If you are building cultivated meat processes, metabolic pathway mapping helps you decide what to feed, when to feed it, and what sensors to use before cell state drifts. I’d...

Most products require no additional agreements. Cell lines and certain biological materials require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) on first purchase from each supplier. We handle this digitally - both parties sign online before shipment. Subsequent orders from the same supplier proceed immediately.
Lucius Labs MEM (Minimum Essential Medium) is a foundational basal cell culture medium designed to support a multitude of different cell types in both suspension and adherent culture formats. Originally developed for general mammalian cell culture, MEM has proven effective for cultivating HeLa cells, HEK293 cells, fibroblasts, and numerous other established cell lines. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential medium for cultivated meat research and development.
This formulation is chemically defined, providing precise control over nutrient composition and ensuring consistent, reproducible results across batches. The medium is animal-origin-free and serum-free, eliminating the variability and regulatory challenges associated with animal-derived components. It contains 1000 milligrams per litre of glucose, providing a moderate energy source suitable for a broad range of cell types. The formulation does not include L-glutamine or sodium pyruvate, allowing researchers to customise supplementation based on specific cell line requirements.
MEM's chemically defined and animal-origin-free characteristics make it well-suited for cultivated meat applications, supporting the growth of muscle, fat, and connective tissue cells. Its established track record provides confidence for bioprocess development and scale-up.
The powder format requires refrigerated storage at 2-8°C, with a shelf life exceeding six months. Liquid formulations are sterile-filtered and must be handled aseptically to maintain quality.
Cellag Bio is the structured intelligence layer for cultivated meat R&D — scattered published research distilled into decision-ready records: what worked, what failed, the likely cause, and what to do instead. Before committing budget to a medium, reagent, or cell line, check the evidence behind it: real experimental outcomes and failure modes, not marketing claims.
Search by media, reagent, cell line or species (e.g. "Beefy-9" or "B8") to find the records that use it.
