Opo Bio ovine fibroblast lines provide specialised animal-component-free primary cell sources for cultivated lamb research. These cells are isolated from juvenile Romney/Dorset X donors and maintained under serum-free conditions from the point of isolation, offering a regulatory-aligned solution for ethical meat production. They are supplied frozen and maintain exceptional growth stability without the need for serum adaptation.
All lines are adherent and validated for robust proliferation under chemically defined conditions. Despite the absence of animal-derived components, typical doubling times remain highly efficient at twenty-seven hours, with post-thaw viability above ninety percent. Each vial contains approximately 1.2 million cells and is certified negative for adventitious agents and mycoplasma. Sourcing from New Zealand donors provides the highest level of biosecurity and traceability.
These ACF cells are supplied with a comprehensive documentation pack including serum-free culture recommendations and morphology images. Access to technical support is included to assist researchers in maintaining a fully animal-free expansion workflow from isolation to scale-up.
