Qkine's research grade salmon FGF-2 is a species-matched fibroblast growth factor essential for maintaining stem cell proliferation, self-renewal, and myoblast expansion in cultivated meat cell culture. Species-matched growth factors deliver superior receptor binding efficiency compared to heterologous proteins, enabling lower supplementation concentrations, improved cellular responses, and enhanced cost-effectiveness in serum-free media formulations for salmon cell lines.
This research-grade recombinant protein is produced in E. coli expression systems and purified to >95% purity by SDS-PAGE quantitative densitometry. The protein is animal-origin-free, carrier protein-free, and tag-free to ensure high purity and consistent performance across batches. Comprehensive quality control includes mass spectrometry verification, bioactivity testing, endotoxin analysis (<0.05 EU/μg), and batch-specific documentation including certificates of analysis.
This protein is supplied lyophilized and should be reconstituted in 10 mM HCl or phosphate buffer at concentrations above 50 µg/mL, with optional addition of carrier protein for enhanced stability. Single-use aliquots are recommended to maintain protein integrity, with storage at -20°C for short-term use or -80°C for long-term storage.
