Corning® MEM (Minimum Essential Medium) Alpha Medium is an advanced modification of the traditional MEM, designed to support the propagation of mammalian fibroblasts and a variety of other cell subtypes. Compared to Basal Medium Eagle (BME), MEM Alpha contains significantly higher concentrations of amino acids to more closely mimic the natural protein composition of mammalian cells, promoting robust cell health and attachment.

The 15-012-CV formulation includes Earle’s salts for effective buffering but is provided without ribonucleosides, deoxyribonucleosides, or L-glutamine. This allows researchers the flexibility to customize the medium with specific supplements required for specialized cell lines or selection assays. Manufactured in ISO 13485-certified facilities, this medium guarantees the high purity and quality standards essential for modern biotechnology.

Supplied as a 500 mL sterile liquid, Corning® MEM Alpha is a foundational tool for laboratories involved in genomics, stem cell research, and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Its reliable performance ensures a stable environment for maintaining cell monolayers and scaling up critical research processes.
