Alvetex Scaffold 6-well inserts provide a highly porous polystyrene environment designed for long-term 3D cell culture. This format allows cells to receive nutrients from both above and below the scaffold, promoting optimal growth and physiological relevance. Engineered to a 200 µm thickness with 36-40 µm pores, it ensures no cell is further than 100 µm from the media source, effectively mimicking in vivo conditions.
The 6-well insert is designed to hang in standard 6-well plates or can be suspended in a deep Petri dish using the Alvetex Well Insert Holder for larger media volumes. This flexibility supports the development of thicker, more complex tissue structures over extended culture periods.
All Alvetex Scaffold products are manufactured from inert polystyrene and supplied sterile. They are compatible with routine downstream analytical techniques, including histology, imaging, and biochemical assays, providing a seamless transition from 2D to 3D research workflows.
