Energy Efficiency in Bioreactor Scale-Up Processes
Scaling up bioreactors for cultivated meat production - from small (1–5 L) to large (1,000+ L) systems - brings energy challenges. Larger volumes require more power for mixing, oxygen transfer,...

Gelatex's Muskel Scaffold Starting Kit delivers a comprehensive evaluation set of nanofibrous plant-based scaffolds for structured cultivated meat research and development. Each kit contains 15 scaffolds measuring 10×10 cm, manufactured using Gelatex's proprietary HaloSpin™ technology. The scaffolds are designed to support three-dimensional cell attachment, proliferation, and differentiation across multiple cultivated meat species, including beef, pork, and poultry applications.
The kit contains a mixed and representative selection of Muskel scaffold formulations. In its current version, it typically includes five pieces each of Chitosan-Lupin, Soy, and Potato scaffolds. Depending on inventory availability and ongoing development focus, the kit may also include additional formulations from the Muskel range, such as Soy-Potato blends or Gelatin. Kit composition may be adjusted by Gelatex over time; however, all kits include a representative selection of Muskel scaffolds suitable for cultured meat research and development.
All Muskel scaffolds are gamma-sterilised and supplied ready for cell seeding. They can be cut to custom dimensions, fixed into specialised holders, or integrated directly into bioreactor systems for static or perfusion culture. The nanofibrous architecture provides a high surface area for cell attachment while maintaining porosity for efficient nutrient and oxygen exchange throughout the culture period.
Manufactured in Estonia to food-safe material standards, Gelatex Muskel scaffolds are intended for business-to-business research and evaluation use only. The product is not authorised as food or novel food under EFSA, SFA, or FDA regulations, and no food safety approvals are implied. For larger quantities, including scaffold rolls and scale-up supply, Cellbase will connect you directly with the Gelatex team.
