Gibco™ Phosphate-Buffered Saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution used for washing cells, diluting reagents, and maintaining osmotic balance during cell handling procedures. This formulation is buffered to pH 7.2, providing a stable physiological environment for a variety of cell culture applications.
This specific formulation (Cat. No. 20012027) is supplied as a 1X, ready-to-use liquid. It contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and phosphate buffers to maintain pH and osmolarity. Produced in cGMP-compliant facilities, this PBS solution is sterile-filtered (0.2 μm) and manufactured under rigorous quality standards. It is chemically defined, animal-origin free, and xeno-free, ensuring consistency and safety.
PBS is isotonic and non-toxic to cells, making it suitable for a variety of cell culture applications, including washing adherent or suspension cells, diluting reagents, and preparing cell suspensions.
This solution is stable at room temperature (15–30°C) and can be stored for up to 24 months when protected from extreme temperatures. Do not use if cloudiness or precipitate is observed. For research use or further manufacturing. Not for diagnostic use or direct administration into humans or animals.
