Most products require no additional agreements. Cell lines and certain biological materials require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) on first purchase from each supplier. We handle this digitally - both parties sign online before shipment. Subsequent orders from the same supplier proceed immediately.
Recombinant Human FGF-basic (FGF-2/bFGF) is a highly bioactive signaling protein essential for the culture and maintenance of diverse mammalian cell types. This 146 amino acid variant is a potent mitogen that stimulates the proliferation of cells of mesodermal and neuroectodermal origin. It is a critical component in media formulations for pluripotent stem cells (PSCs), neural stem cells, and endothelial cells, playing a vital role in maintaining pluripotency and directing lineage-specific differentiation.
This growth factor is expressed in E. coli and purified to exceptional standards, typically exceeding 95% purity as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by silver stain. Each lot is rigorously validated for biological activity using a cell proliferation assay with Quiescent NR6R-3T3 fibroblasts, ensuring an ED50 typically within 0.1–0.6 ng/mL. The lyophilized formulation is carrier-free, providing researchers with a clean, high-performance reagent for sensitive applications in regenerative medicine and cancer research.
The 146 aa FGF-basic is ideal for both foundational research and advanced bioprocessing where precise control over cell signaling is required. Known for its robust performance across multiple cell types, it is a dependable choice for wound healing studies, angiogenesis assays, and stem cell expansion. For maximum stability, the protein should be reconstituted according to validated protocols and stored in working aliquots at -20°C to -70°C to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
