Top 7 Technologies for Cell Harvesting in Cultivated Meat
If you damage cells at harvest, you lose yield, add debris, and make downstream work harder. For cultivated meat teams, the best fit depends on four things: culture format, scale,...

Roslin Technologies ovine embryo-derived stem cells (ESCs) provide high stability and rapid expansion rates for specialized animal tissue research. Derived from Texel X Mixed crossbreed embryos with full traceability, these cells are maintained in a chemically defined, serum-free environment. This ensures a clean production start, free from the variability associated with feeder-layer systems.
The embryo-derived ESC lines demonstrate exceptional growth characteristics, maintaining a doubling time of less than 24 hours through long-term stability studies. Characterization is provided through flow cytometry for pluripotency markers such as OCT4, SOX2, and SSEA4, alongside trilineage potential validation via qPCR. The cells are currently optimized for adherent culture, with protocols for suspension adaptation under ongoing development.
These products are available under R&D and Commercial license models. The licenses grant access to standardized protocols for thawing, seeding, and expansion, as well as lot-level Certificate of Analysis (COA) data. Roslin Technologies provides ongoing technical support to ensure successful integration into commercial or academic pipelines.
These products are intended for research use only. They are not approved for human clinical or diagnostic applications.
Cellag Bio is the structured intelligence layer for cultivated meat R&D — scattered published research distilled into decision-ready records: what worked, what failed, the likely cause, and what to do instead. Before committing budget to a medium, reagent, or cell line, check the evidence behind it: real experimental outcomes and failure modes, not marketing claims.
Search by media, reagent, cell line or species (e.g. "Beefy-9" or "B8") to find the records that use it.
