XCeLL Factor™ Insulin is a recombinant human insulin supplied in lyophilized form for use in serum-free and chemically defined media. It supports glucose uptake, lipid regulation, and cell survival, making it a critical component in media formulations designed for mammalian and cultivated meat cell systems. Its activity contributes to stable proliferation and maintenance across fibroblasts, myoblasts, adipocytes, and other metabolically active cell types that require defined supplementation to replace serum-derived factors.
The protein is produced through recombinant DNA expression in an animal-origin-free system and purified to high homogeneity under reducing conditions. This manufacturing approach provides consistent structural integrity and reduces variability compared with plasma-derived alternatives. The defined composition supports predictable metabolic responses in workflows where reproducibility and traceability are essential for process optimization and future regulatory planning.
XCeLL Factor™ Insulin is supplied as a lyophilized powder that dissolves readily in dilute acid, including 10 mM HCl, to prepare concentrated stock solutions. The format facilitates long-term storage at −20°C while maintaining stability for extended periods. Once reconstituted, the solution integrates smoothly into basal media, supplement blends, or feed strategies used in high-density cell culture and differentiation protocols.
