City-Mix is a chemically defined, animal-free media supplement designed to function as a "cell booster" by mimicking the macromolecular crowding of the native cellular environment. Unlike standard media, which are dilute aqueous solutions, this supplement introduces inert, food-safe macromolecules that create volume-exclusion effects. This thermodynamic mechanism increases the effective concentration of growth factors and nutrients, significantly enhancing their bioavailability and bioactivity without adding exogenous proteins.
