Corning® Phosphate-Buffered Saline (PBS) is a foundational buffer solution containing sodium chloride and sodium phosphate, meticulously formulated to maintain a constant pH of 7.4 ± 0.1. As an isotonic and non-toxic solution, it is an essential component in cell culture workflows, providing a stable environment that preserves the structural and physiological integrity of cells during processing.
This specific 21-040-CV formulation is 1X concentration and is prepared without calcium and magnesium. The absence of these divalent cations makes it particularly suitable for washing cells before dissociation or for applications where the presence of these ions could interfere with downstream enzymatic activities or cell-to-cell adhesion. Manufactured in ISO 13485-certified facilities, Corning® PBS meets high-quality industry standards, ensuring lot-to-lot consistency and reliable performance across various laboratory applications.
Commonly used for cell rinsing, dilution, and as a base for many biochemical assays, this PBS solution is a staple in bioprocessing, cancer research, and genomic studies. Each production lot is accompanied by a complete Certificate of Analysis, and the solution is supplied sterile and ready for use, supporting a seamless transition from basic research to pilot and production environments.
