Corning® DMEM (Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium) with low glucose is a versatile basal medium formulated for the cultivation of diverse mammalian cell types. Derived from Basal Medium Eagle (BME) but enriched with four times the concentration of vitamins and amino acids, this medium supports both normal and transformed cells. The low-glucose concentration (1.0 g/L) makes it ideal for metabolic studies or the culture of sensitive cells where high sugar levels may be detrimental.
This formulation (10-014-CV) is supplemented with L-glutamine and sodium pyruvate to support efficient cellular metabolism and respiration. Produced under strict cGMP-compliant quality systems, Corning ensures that each bottle meets exact specifications for pH, osmolarity, and sterility, providing researchers with the consistency needed for reproducible results.
